Teenagers with acne skip the burgers and try the veggies
Acne is the bane of most teenagers. It is a common skin disease resulting from inflammation of the hair follicles of the face, neck and torso. Although the exact cause of acne is unknown, it is exacerbated by the hormone changes associated with puberty.
Some believe that acne is also influenced by diet, such as chocolate and greasy foods. Conclusive evidence for specific dietary triggers is lacking, however, two independent medical studies strongly suggest that diet plays a role and that a low-glycemic diet may rapidly reduce acne lesions. more on acne
